4-day tour from Casablanca to the desert and Marrakech, with visits to Morocco’s imperial cities such as Meknes and Fez and a trip to the Sahara desert with camel trekking. This tour is available daily from Casablanca.
1 Hour Before Flight Time
Today, we pick you up in Casablanca and begin our private tour to Fez with a guided visit of the capital Rabat and Meknes. We’ll stop briefly to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, then continue on to Fez, arriving in the evening. Overnight in a traditional Moroccan riad/hotel with dinner.
Today, we explore the city of Fès, including the Jewish quarter (the Mellah) and the royal palace (the court), which is the largest in the country. We then leave Fès for Ifrane, nicknamed “the Switzerland of Morocco”. On this journey, you’ll catch a glimpse of the Middle and High Atlas mountains. Stop in Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, where you may see barbarian monkeys. We’ll have lunch in Midelt in a traditional Moroccan restaurant, then cross the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and drive along the magnificent Ziz Gorge, carved out of volcanic rock, and the spectacular Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. We pass through welcoming Berber villages to Erfoud, then Rissani, before arriving in Merzouga. We’ll take a camel ride guided by an experienced camel driver. This camel ride takes about 1 hour to reach the camp where you will spend the night – in the middle of the highest sand dunes to enjoy the sunset and watch the stars. Dinner will be served at the camp.
Today, in the morning, we’ll witness a magnificent sunrise in the desert, walk on the sand dunes and admire the incredible landscape of the Sahara desert. After breakfast, we drive through the palm groves to Rissani, to visit the market (open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays), and on to Erfoud to visit the fossilized marble factories. We reach the Todgha Gorge, the highest and narrowest canyon in Morocco. Lunch and a walk through the gorge to enjoy the magnificent scenery. In the afternoon, we head for the Dades valley and spend the night in Boumalne Dades.
After breakfast, we explore the Dades Valley. Later, we’ll head for the Valley of the Roses, passing through the palm groves of Skoura and the “Thousand Kasbahs” road, where you can enjoy 17th-century kasbahs. We’ll have lunch in Ouarzazate and, if you wish, we can visit the film studios and the film museum. We’ll arrive in Marrakech in the evening and transfer you to your hotel. End of our 4-day camel trek in the Sahara, from Casablanca to Marrakech
