Commencing at 8:00 am, our journey begins with a pickup from your hotel or riad. Heading towards the High Atlas, known for its highest elevations in North Africa, offering snow-covered landscapes in winter and spring. Our route proceeds to Ouarzazate, a village nestled near the High Atlas mountains and the Draa River valley, renowned as the movie capital with the most significant film studio in Morocco. Continuing through the picturesque Thousand Kasbahs road, we enter the Dades Valley, following the river road into a narrow valley. A stop along the way allows you to appreciate the surroundings. The evening will be spent with dinner and an overnight stay.

Following breakfast, our journey continues to Todra Gorges, passing through the expansive Tinghir palm grove, characterized by vibrant agriculture, date palms, and local crafts. Upon reaching the gorge, embark on a walking tour through its mesmerizing landscapes, shaped over thousands of years. A pause for lunch in Tingdad allows you to savor the surroundings. Later, we drive to Merzouga via Arfoud, known as the Date Capital. Upon arrival in Merzouga, the evening unfolds with an overnight stay at the hotel.

Following breakfast at the hotel, embarking on a 4×4 excursion in Erg Chebbi presents an ideal opportunity to explore the captivating landscapes around Merzouga. Delve into the enchanting Erg Chebbi dunes, visiting the seasonal lake of Merzouga, experiencing the rhythmic Gnawa music in Khamlia village, exploring the lead mines of Mis, and encountering nomad families residing in traditional Berber-style tents. A lunch break at a typical village restaurant precedes the return to the hotel, where preparations are made for a 1.5-hour camel trek to the desert camp nestled in the heart of the Sahara. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the tranquility of the desert.

Should you choose to rise early, you can witness the sunrise before returning to the hotel via camel ride. Following a refreshing shower, the journey proceeds to Rissani, with a stop to explore its vibrant market—a crucial hub catering to the needs of surrounding villages, featuring a myriad of shops and stalls. Continuing the route towards Ouarzazate, we traverse the magnificent Draa Valley adorned with expansive palm trees. Arriving in Ouarzazate in the afternoon, the evening unfolds with dinner and an overnight stay.

Following breakfast, our journey takes us to the fortified city of Ait Ben Haddou, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. This historic site has gained fame as the backdrop for numerous iconic films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and The Mummy. As the day concludes, we reach the vibrant city of Marrakech, marking the culmination of this enriching 5-day trip that commenced from Marrakech and ventured into the captivating landscapes of the Merzouga Desert.
